Former Allendale resident, Greg Wilson, visited yesterday to show me the Wilson family bible that has been enjoyed by the Wilson family for over 150 years. Greg is the son of Allendale Brookside/Hillside School Principal Aileen Wilson. The Wilson family belonged to the Church of the Epiphany during its time on Cottage Place. I am looking for records of the Church of the Epiphany, pre-1965. The current Trinity Church has none. They seem to have disappeared. They must be here somewhere.
Spread about the pages of this bible are family records of birth, death, and marriage back to the early 1800s. Wow!
The Wilson Family is one of the handful of families that has had a family member living in Allendale continuously for over 150 years.
Many thanks to the Wilson family for their service to Allendale and for helping to support Allendale history.
Thanks. Fred
